Report captures insights from Indigenous Teacher Education National Summit

In June 2023, on Treaty 7 Territory and Region 3 of the Homeland of the Métis, the Rideau Hall Foundation (RHF) and the National Advisory Committee on Indigenous Teacher Education (NACITE) were honoured and humbled to gather Elders, educators, students and experts from coast to coast to coast to host the Innovate, Ignite, Impact, Influence: The future of Indigenous Teacher Education National Summit. Our goal was to recognize, celebrate, and honour the innovative and impactful work being done in Indigenous teacher education across the country, and start on an ambitious journey towards supporting 10,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis teachers in Canada.

This report provides a look into what was captured over three days of engaging discussions, insightful presentations from Indigenous education leaders, and celebrating Indigenous culture with captivating performances by drummers, fiddlers, dancers and more.
