Young Canadian innovator, Casper Dong has been an Ingenious+ National Finalist twice, first in 2024 and again in 2025. His first project, Biodegradable and Treated Wood Chips as a Winter Alternative for De-Icing Road Salts, was entered under the category of Climate Change and the Environment. This innovation ensures residents near endangered freshwater ecosystems won’t have to rely on toxic salts for de-icing.
For his second project, Canada Youth Aerospace Team, Casper turned his attention to the Entrepreneurship and Technology category. The Canada Youth Aerospace Team provides accessible STEM opportunities for all Canadian youth, regardless of where they live.
Casper is an active member of the Ingenious+ community, and he is a fantastic example of Canadian innovators that the RHF strives to recognize and award through the Ingenioius+ program.
