Back in the spring of this year, the Rideau Hall Foundation (RHF) partnered with CanadaHelps to prepare for a special day of giving: GivingTuesdayNow, which was a community-driven response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We weren’t sure if the campaign would be successful, but despite the stress and uncertainty created by the pandemic, Canadians stepped up and demonstrated that giving is part of our national identity with countless acts of generosity. Read some of the highlights from GivingTuesdayNow here.
The RHF is delighted to work with CanadaHelps once again to promote #GivingTuesday 2020, taking place on December 1. People around the world will have the opportunity to stand together in unity, to use their individual power of generosity to stay connected and heal. Our ability to give help and hope is incredibly uplifting, and one simple act of giving can inspire many more.
Remember that giving is not limited to financial donations. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, putting positive messages in your windows, sharing a skill, or supporting causes through donations, every act of generosity counts.
We want to inspire those acts of giving for #GivingTuesday 2020.
On Tuesday, December 1, use the hashtag #GivingTuesdayCA to tell us how you’re giving back in your community, and visit the GivingTuesday website for inspiration and ideas.
The world is going through a difficult time. The power of generosity and giving can transform this shared experience into a more positive one for all of us.
