U-VAD is a wearable object detection assistive device for individuals with severe sight loss that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles in the user’s path.

It utilizes ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles in the user’s path and indicates the distance of the said obstacle by giving auditory messages through headphones/earbuds to help build confidence and bring comfort to its users when navigating unfamiliar areas.
