The Forum for Young Canadians National Summit is back — and applications are officially open for the February–March 2026 program in Ottawa. Each week, more than 100 youth aged 15–18 from across the country will gather in the nation’s capital for an unforgettable, hands-on learning experience at the heart of Canadian democracy.

Over the course of six action-packed days, participants will step inside the country’s most important institutions, engage directly with national decision-makers, and take part in realistic simulations that bring Canada’s political system to life.

A Week in the Life at Forum

From day one, students are immersed in a program that blends education, leadership development, and cultural exploration:

  • Behind-the-scenes access — Guided visits to the House of Commons, Senate, and Supreme Court of Canada, with opportunities to meet MPs, Senators, and other influential leaders.
  • Interactive simulations — Multi-day role-play activities of elections, Cabinet meetings, and the decision-making process of government.
  • Skills for life — Workshops on public speaking, media literacy, Indigenous governance, and ethical leadership.
  • Safe and supportive environment — A dedicated team of staff and chaperones provides 24/7 supervision, with a comprehensive safeguarding policy in place.
  • Social connection — Evening activities such as improv, games nights, and cultural outings give participants time to relax and build friendships.

Who Should Apply

The Forum welcomes Canadian youth aged 15–18 from all provinces and territories. Participants are:

  • Passionate about leadership, politics, or making a difference in their communities.
  • Curious about how Canada’s political system works and eager to experience it first-hand.
  • Ready to meet and collaborate with peers from across the country.
  • Interested in improving their English or French through real-world interaction.

No prior political experience is required — just enthusiasm, an open mind, and a desire to contribute.
